Temnon

A group of works that emerge from repetitive patterns of mechanical acts. In line with post-minimal attitudes, these works re-introduce a role for human interference in automated methodologies. Whereas a machine operates in a framework of perfected consistency, promising to produce the same result every time, human production is often characterised by variable imperfections. It is precisely within these negative margins of ‘failure’ of the pursuit of perfection that difference and uniqueness emerge.
