Bad York
Bad York (2017) utilizes the synesthetic affects of saturated fiction in popular culture. Scenes of destruction of New York are drawn from films to comprise a multilayering of simulacras. The resulting effect consists of a set of paradoxes: allegories dissolve into abstraction as the city is contained in a constant flux of redestruction, and while aesthetic qualities emergence from depictions of violence we are confronted with the actual possibility of fiction reified into fact.
